Mostly it’s one of visual communication as the sender shared images of vacation spots visited or landmarks seen. It’s a classic example of the saying “a picture is worth a thousand words”.

For this very same reason, photos on your postcard become a very important component of the overall communication. This is why at TotalPostcards we choose not to limit your choices by providing a limited library of images to choose from if we become involved with your design.

There is an entire industry devoted to making images available to those in the graphic arts. Through the years, prices have dropped even more rapidly than these libraries have expanded in size. Many add thousands of images daily to their offerings and fresh photos of anything imaginable are constantly appearing.

Our current favorite due to selection and price (most range from $5 to $15) is www.istockphoto.com. By going to the site and putting in a simple keyword description for the photo or illustration you may get hundreds more often thousands to choose from. They have many millions in their database.

Let’s say you are a dentist for children and think a photo of a parent brushing teeth with a small child sends the right message. Simply put “parent and child brushing teeth” in the keyword or description box and hit search. You will have more to choose from than you’ll care to wade through. You can find the exact photo that you feel sends the message right for you company.

Whether you paint houses, clean carpets, recruit executives, sell athletic footwear, whatever you do or sell, you will have access to many thousands of images that can become an integral part of your postcard’s message, one that will attract the recipient’s attention and invite them to read on thereby getting your message.

You can choose to locate your own image or have us apply our expertise in locating the perfect image(s) for you; either way you get the greatest flexibility at the lowest possible price. If you like, you can simply make a note of the image(s) numbers you want to use and we can purchase them on our account. We can even crop and size them so they’re a perfect component in your overall design.
